An engagement with contemporary art can be beneficial for anyone, whether they have experience of art or not. Art can stir our creativity if it confronts us with unexpected situations or does not fit the pattern of how we usually see. Our imagination can be stimulated at the very point of a break in the familiar. The Kunsthaus Baselland offers a multifaceted programme of tours, workshops and discussions with figures from art and culture but equally business, science and politics, and invites anyone to have new experiences through art.

Tours

We invite you to walk with us through the current temporary exhibitions. Thanks to a physical experience of the work we begin to understand the exhibition’s content and can make links to current concerns beyond art. With background information about the topics and strategies of the invited artists as well as through the shared discussion we gain a comprehensive viewpoint of the work within the exhibition.

Kunsthaus Discussions

Figures from business, education, culture, science and politics invite you to participate in discussions in the current exhibitions. Through this the questions posed in art are viewed in a new, informative light in connection with contemporary topics.

Artists Talks

The Kunsthaus frequently offers the possibility to meet exhibiting artists in the context of artist’s talks. Participants learn artistic strategies and the background to these and gain rare insights into the given work.

KunsthausKino & Videomobile

At irregular intervals, we show selected video works from dotMov.bl - Sammlung Neue Medien Baselland in dialog with other video works, either in the Kunsthaus foyer or on trips through the region with our Videomobil.
