An engagement with contemporary art can be beneficial for anyone, whether they have experience of art or not. Art can stir our creativity if it confronts us with unexpected situations or does not fit the pattern of how we usually see. Our imagination can be stimulated at the very point of a break in the familiar. The Kunsthaus Baselland offers a multifaceted programme of tours, workshops and discussions with figures from art and culture but equally business, science and politics, and invites anyone to have new experiences through art.
If you are interested in what we have to offer please phone (+41) 61 312 83 88 or email us. We will be delighted to take your booking and are of course available to answer your questions.
Our team is available to answer questions or take bookings from Tuesday–Friday from 9 am–5 pm.
Do you want to profit more from art and support it at the same time? Start a friendship with art. Become a member of the Kunstverein Baselland!
We invite you to walk with us through the current temporary exhibitions. Thanks to a physical experience of the work we begin to understand the exhibition’s content and can make links to current concerns beyond art. With background information about the topics and strategies of the invited artists as well as through the shared discussion we gain a comprehensive viewpoint of the work within the exhibition.
Tours at Lunchtime and Evening Tours
Exhibition tours of different durations. In a shared dialogue we discover the particularities of artists.
With a trained art educator.
Guided tours on demand
We are happy to offer special tours tailored to your wishes. Topics can focus on the art presented or relate to concrete questions and issues.
Figures from business, education, culture, science and politics invite you to participate in discussions in the current exhibitions. Through this the questions posed in art are viewed in a new, informative light in connection with contemporary topics.
Talks with Artists
The Kunsthaus frequently offers the possibility to meet exhibiting artists in the context of artist’s talks. Participants learn artistic strategies and the background to these and gain rare insights into the given work.
Generations in the Museum (GiM)
The “GiM” format is a special form of encounter and exchange. In pairs, young and old observe works together and thus begin stimulating conversations. Different generations, for example, can make up stories to accompany selected works. Our art educators accompany you as moderators of the process. The GiM format is a Migros Kulturprozent initiative.
The Kunsthaus Baselland invites together with a host organisation to “GiM live”. Tandem groups of two unrelated guests with an age difference of at least 15 years walk through the exhibition(s) and together make up stories around the exhibited pieces. To finish, the group reunites and enjoys refreshments together. The format is suitable for any age group and offers a diverting event for your school group, society or company. Would you like to once be a host group, or have you questions about the format? We will be happy to advise you.
